MOUNTAIN AND MOUNTAINOUS VILLAGES Mt. OLYMPUS

PALEA SKOTINA
A traditional village on the slopes of Lower Olympus. You can visit and admire the 14th century church of Ag Athanasios with a unique wood carved screen, and the church of the Slumber of the Virgin Mary (1862) in the village square.
The Flora and Fauna of Lower Olympus are of considerable interest.

There are many activities to participate in locally, including hiking, mountain biking and for the adventurous with 4 wheel drive vehicles, off road motoring.

There is only one hotel in the village, which has a restaurant where you can enjoy the pleasures of local cooking, but there are plenty of places for the visitor to stay in the nearby seaside resort of Skotina and other nearby villages in the area.

Situated 39 km from Katerini in easy reach of the National Motorway E75 (Junction Skotina) and the railway station (Skotina).
