Gianis with its eponymous Church; also, don't miss the organized and wonderful beaches of Variko, Gritsa, and Plaka and Mount Olympus, world famous for its historical interest and its rare flora and fauna.
> Moreover, the "Alexander the Great Foundation Inc", at the Dion - Litochoro junction in Pieria by the Athens - Thessaloniki National Road, is also interesting. It is directed by the Central Council of emigrant Macedonians, whose Head Offices are in New York, U.S.A. (address: 149 - 14 Avenue Whitestone, NY 11357 - 1730, U.S.A.).
The Institute which is responsible for organizing activities at the site, a library devoted to the works and accomplishments of Alexander the Great and many exhibitions related to the life and historical achievements of Alexander and other ancient Greek events are situated within the building. The building is also used for conferences, cultural presentations and other activities run by the Central Council of emigrant Macedonians.
